Bach Children’s Choir

California Arts Academy

California Arts Academy is the only children’s theater program in the Valley that produces full-length and fully staged dramas for children and teens in addition to musicals! Just sign up and perform in a show-all who audition are cast. This summer Nancy Hale will be directing the play The Masked Musketeer (7-Teen), Daniel Chavez Jr. will be directing the musical Dear Edwina, Junior (5-8, and 9-Teen) and Julie Ann Keller will be directing Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (10-Adult). California Opera Festival

(559) 225-6737 California Opera Festival summer youth camp opportunities are free for all children pre-K through grades 12 who would like to participate in a musical theater and opera project this summer July 14th through August 2nd with some additional after-school and weekend practices prior to the camp. Now celebrating the 10th summer in Fresno, the Opera Festival Camp provides various roles for children that have no experience in music and opera, and also higher level performance opportunities for children who are more advanced in the art.

Participating students will learn about dance, voice, music, and drama in association with the premiere of a new children’s melodrama which underscores the ethical treatment of animals, called Shep, The Musical, by Fresno composer-playwright Joe Ozier. Participating students also have the opportunity to be included in mainstage performances of the major summer opera works including, “I Pagliacci” and “Suor Angelica.”

Camp Storyland

(559) 486-212 Rotary Storyland is thrilled to announce Camp Storyland, an exciting and educational half-day summer literacy camp for children ages 4-10. This week long balanced program will include daily opportunities for reading, thematic interpretation, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, phonological awareness, creative writing, themed crafts, cultural enrichment, music and recreation. All activities will be high interest and engaging, fostering positive interactions between other children and caring adults. Campers will be in small groups with peers of their own age, with a very low adult-to-child ratio and plenty of one on one attention. Carden School of Fresno Performing Arts Summer School

Their afternoons will be filled with age appropriate water play and fun. Camp 1 will be performing “The Granny Awards,” a musical fairy tale. Camp 2 will be performing a musical adaptation of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” At the end of each camp the children will perform their play for all their families and friends!

Fresno Chaffee Zoo Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp, ages 5-11

Each class includes an encounter with an education animal or a behind-the-scenes with a zoo keeper. Children will be grouped by age and grade level and will rotate through theme, biofacts, literature and crafts sessions.

Adventure Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with extended care available for an additional fee. Each daily course includes a morning and afternoon snack, and campers are asked to bring their own lunch.
